Our Focus

Employment, Skills & Community

Tiqvah House places a strong emphasis on meaningful employment, skill development, and community connection — recognising these as key foundations for long-term wellbeing and independence.

Participants develop the confidence, capacity, and practical skills needed to maintain a positive and independent lifestyle, supported by a live-in support worker and the wider Living Our Lives team.

Employment Pathways

We work with residents to identify employment goals, build workplace readiness, and connect with local employers and training opportunities.

Skill Building

From cooking and budgeting to communication and self-care, we build the practical skills that underpin independent living.

Community Belonging

We actively connect residents with local groups, activities, and events — fostering a genuine sense of belonging and purpose.

Community Services

Community Jobs Program

Tiqvah House is available for smaller jobs that can typically be completed within 2–3 hours, including gardening, general maintenance, building flat packs, picking up and delivering items, and other practical odd jobs. Equipped with a ute and trailer, all work is carried out with the supervision and support of a mentor/support person.

These opportunities are designed to help participants learn new skills, build confidence, understand the value of earning an income, and work towards greater independence and self-sufficiency.

It's a win-win for everyone involved — participants gain valuable life and work skills, while the local community receives affordable, practical assistance. We would love referrals and support from the community, as the success of this program depends on the opportunities and jobs we are able to provide for participants.
